Commencement of Commercial Operations.

Numaligarh Refinery Limited incorporated as a Company.

BPCL Inducted

BPCL inducted as Major Promoter (BPCL 32%, IBP 19%, Govt. of Assam 10%, Public 39%).

July 9^th, 1999

Numaligarh Refinery dedicated to the Nation by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

March 31^st, 2001

NRL becomes a subsidiary of BPCL (Equity: BPCL – 61.65%, OIL – 26%, Government of Assam – 12.35%).

November 5^th, 2003

NRL recognised as Category I Miniratna CPSE.

January 8^th, 2007

Investment in Joint Venture, BCPL - 10% equity.

June 15^th, 2007

Investment in Joint Venture, DNPL - 26% equity (then 40%).

April 25^th, 2018

Investment in Joint Venture, ABEPL - 50% equity.

Investment in Joint Venture, IGGL - 20% equity.

Approval received from Cabinet Committee of Economic Affairs for the Refinery Expansion Project to expand capacity from 3MMTPA to 9MMTPA along with 1640 km Paradip-Numaligarh Crude Pipeline (PNCPL).

OIL became majority shareholder and holding company following ownership transfer from BPCL.

NRL upgraded from Schedule-B to Schedule-A CPSE.

India-Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline (IBFPL) inaugurated.

Worlds first commercial scale 2G bamboo-based ethanol plant inaugurated by Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi.
